On 15 May, Melaka became the launchpad for the first series of our Drone Skyblitz: Aero Sprint Workshop, a specially curated training session designed to prepare young drone enthusiasts for the upcoming State Drone Competition.

Held under our Drone Skyblitz initiative, this workshop welcomed participants from both primary and secondary schools, all eager to explore the fundamentals of drone technology in a hands-on, engaging environment.

✈️ What Participants Learned

The full-day workshop was structured to cover three core aspects of drone education:

1. Drone Assembling
   Students got their hands on drone kits—learning how to identify, connect, and test essential components such as the frame, ESC, flight controller, and propellers.
2. Drone Controls & Safety
   Our trainers guided participants through understanding transmitter functions, throttle control, and safety protocols for indoor and outdoor flying.
3. Drone Flight Basics
   Participants experienced their first take-offs and learned basic piloting maneuvers—setting the foundation for obstacle runs and race challenges in the state competition.

Each session focused on learning-by-doing, encouraging students to problem-solve, communicate in teams, and build confidence as young drone pilots.

⚙️ Why It Matters

As drones continue to impact industries like agriculture, logistics, and disaster response, this program gives students a head start into future tech careers. More than that, it fosters curiosity, hands-on learning, and digital skills development aligned with STEM education goals.

For many, this was their first experience building and flying a drone, and the excitement was unmistakable—from the first screw turned to the first successful flight!

This is just Series 1 of our Aero Sprint journey. As we move closer to the State Drone Competition, participants will continue refining their skills in future sessions. The road to competition is about more than just racing—it’s about growth, exposure, and creating opportunities for students to shine.
